Using Science to Bring Society Solutions to Urban Problems: From Energy and Environment to Waste, Transportation, and Disaster Prevention
It's no exaggeration to say that what's changing cities today is not what they are physically made of but rather how they are run; in other words, the services provided by government and private enterprise. In the Faculty of Urban Science, we take a range of urban services that up to now have been taught through experience and intuition, and instead approach them from a scientific standpoint using state-of-the-art information technology and social science know-how. The goal is to solve the variety of problems faced by cities today.
